Chinese New Year

Poor planning is bad, !@#$%
Went to school for some dumb celebration. It started with a lion dance performed by a group of students, there was this lion which looked so detached. The of ass the lion was quite apart from it's upper body. And that's entertainment. I can't remember the subsequent events in chronological order. I think after that was a balloon making competition, nothing interesting. A performance by the Chinese Orchestra was put up, I think the melodies were very nice. 'Cause 205 was sitting at the first row from the front, we could see everything. There was this girl who played as if she was possessed. Then, two girls hosted a Chinese chun lian guessing competition, it took up most of the time of the whole celebration. They invited nine people on to the platform to do the guessing. I think like nine out of the nine participants are from China (including the hosts), they really have a distinguishable accent. Not that I speak really fluently but, yeah. Nothing about discrimination. And what the hell, their punishment for not guessing correctly was plain retarded. They go get that stupid-looking plastic balloon axe to supposedly chop the loser's head. Dummmmmb. They concluded the celebration with some CNY songs. I don't think anyone was singing.
After that my father, my sister and I went to Singapore Swimming Club to have breakfast and sat in the library till after noon. Kidnapped Weihui from Parkway (she was on her way home), 'cause we wanted to go shopping and watch a movie. Went to Kong Hwa. Seriously I don't know why I went back for, it was only to meet Wan En and go out with her. And I don't know why we can't straight and go to Parkway or something. Then I saw her in KHS, I wanted to go already but she wanted to talk to Ms Ang or what. So she asked me to go to PP first. Okay, me, my sister and Weihui took a bus and got off the immediate next stop. We got on the wrong bus. Rubbish, we just flagged a cab and reached PP. Walked around MPH and had an American Cheesecake at the cafe there, don't know what it's called. Tasted same as the Starbucks one. Wan En and Jia En took a cab to meet us. We sat down and didn't talk. Two possibilities: No topic, No privacy. Whatever it is, Jia En just seemed so pissed off (with me or whatever shit). She grabbed her bag and said, 'I go back to KHS first.'. What's the problem? Yeah she and Wan En took a cab from KHS to PP, stayed for less than 10 minutes and wanted to go back to KHS. So be it, they left. I sat on the couch at the cafe and watched them go. And I saw Wan En crying while going out. Everything after that was so dramatic. Eeek, I went after her. All right, me, Emily and Weihui went after her. Don't know why she cried anyway. She and Jia En wanted to go back to KHS, they could've told me in the beginning and just don't meet me at PP. Waste of time and money. So after some decisions and whatever, Wan En and Jia En returned to KHS while me, my sister and Weihui went to Bugis. I won't go back to KHS anymore.
Reached Bugis and walked around to look for clothes, my legs were damn tired. And I think I kept eating, I spent most of my money on foooood. I've always loved Rockery's watermelon smoothie. I saw Jane and Jia Min at the Neoprint shop, whatever it's called. Jane couldn't really remember me. We were best friends in Primary One and Two, then friendship faded. Jia Min didn't grab my hand and refuse to let go (she doesn't like me, Si Min).
In the evening Aunt Grace and my mother came to meet us. We bought clothes and walked till our legs were numb, again. We did go home with new clothes but no movie! We walked till 11PM, 'I Not Stupid Too' was showing at 11.30PM but Aunt Grace thought it was laaaate.
So we sat the MRT home, I reached home at midnight, nearly 1AM. Did I mention I was in school uniform all the time.
28 January 2006, Saturday
My father woke me up with his irritating, loud voice. I mean, he shouts/ roars in normal conversations so I don't like to talk to him. And it gets worse when he's angry. Had lunch at Jack's Place @ Eastpoint with my paternal relatives. The food wasn't nice. Bought new shoes, I regret getting that pink shoe. I liked the beige one but my sister and mother insisted that pink was nicer. Then it was to Uncle Edwin's house for the yu sheng. He and his wife are Buddhists, I think. It's nice of them to not mind us going to their place 'cause I think we're not supposed to go someone else's house for, qi qi si shi jiu tian? Superstitious shits. Uncle Seng's hamsters gave birth and my sister's interested to get two from him. My uncle bought them at 50 bucks each, some goooood species. That's like getting 100 bucks as a red packet. My grandmother gave me a red packet.
Went home and had a nap before going to Aunt Lillian's house for dinner. We had steamboat. Joel showed us some photographs of our parents when they were so young! There was this one with Aunt Lillian carrying me in front of a cake, my eyes were sorta glued onto the cake and there was this weird expression on my face which says, 'What's that thing?'. Some photographs showed Jeriel with his big Pikachu and tiger soft toys. He used to have a lot of them on his bed and now there isn't even one. There was also one with Emily, Joel, Jeriel and Weijing/ Weiying in costumes. I think my sister was the Wonderwoman! We've all grown up and now it's the time to reminisce. Ah, how sweeet.
It's past 4AM and I'm still blogging. Today we're going to my maternal grandmother's house. I hope we will go and catch 'I Not Stupid Too' with the cousins, but Weihui says her family wants to go to Ampao River. What's so interesting about that place? My family hasn't gone there since a long time ago. My sister lost over 200 bucks worth of red packets right there.
